House fire in US kills 3 Indian teen siblings

| @indiablooms | Dec 26, 2018, at 07:59 pm

New York, Dec 26 (IBNS): Three teenaged siblings from Telangana died in the US when the house they were staying in at Collierville, US, caught fire on December 23 night, reports said.

The Naik siblings Sharron, 17, Joy, 15, and Aaron, 14, died in the fire along with a woman named Karl Coudriet.

The children's parents are Sujatha and Srinivas Naik, reports said, adding they were residents of Gurraputhanda in Neredugommu block of Telengana's Nalgonda district. Srinivas had worked as a pastor in the US and returned to Nalgonda last year. The children stayed back for studies at French Camp Academy in Mississippi. The children were staying at the Coudriets' to celebrate Christmas.

"Friends and family, please be in prayer for Pastor Naik and his wife. They sent their three precious children to America from India to keep them safe, and during the break a fire took their lives. They have been a blessing to the French Camp community and are loved by our whole town. I cannot fathom the grief of their parents as I know how much our town is grieving," Town of French Camp, MS, captioned a picture of the three siblings on Facebook.

"A fire started around 11 o’clock pm at the Coudriet home. The Coudriet family was hosting, housing, and celebrating Christmas with three teenagers attending an Academy here in the states. The Naik family are Missionaries in India that our church supports," Collierville Bible Church said in a statement to the media.

"Danny, Kari, and their son Cole in the Coudriet family, and with Sharron, Joy and Aaron of the Missionary family were all in the home. Danny and Cole were able to make it out of the home. Kari was unable to make it out of the home and is now with our Heavenly Father," it added.

Collierville Mayor Stan Joyner said investigation was on.

“They’re still looking at what the cause of it was... I was told when they arrived they did not hear any smoke alarms going off ... so you just never know,” a report quoted the mayor as saying.
