Hoax bomb threat forces GoAir flight to make emergency landing in Nagpur

Nagpur, Jan 23 (IBNS) A bomb scare on Mumbai-bound GoAir plane that forced the aircraft to make an emergency landing amid tension and high alert, finally turned out to be a mere hoax, reports said.

The plane, flying from Bhubaneswar to Mumbai, made an emergency landing at Nagpur airport after a suspected bomb threat message.

"GoAir flight G8 243 took off from Bhubaneshwar to Mumbai at 8.20 am and post receiving the bomb threat call, was diverted to Nagpur and landed at 9.29 am. After deplaning the 150 passengers, checks were conducted by the airport security and there was no bomb found onboard the aircraft," a statement released by GoAir said.

"Post clearance from the authorities, the passengers are now being boarded and flight is scheduled to take off at 12 noon to Mumbai," it said.

Nothing suspicious was found on the plane, authorities said.
