Hindu Community has no aspiration of dominance: Bhagwat

Chicago, Sept 8 (IBNS): Attending the World Hindu Congress in Chicago, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh or RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has said that the Hindu community has no aspiration of dominance.

Bhagwat said he feels the community could prosper only by acting as a society.

The Congress is marking the 125th anniversary of Swami Vivekananda's historic speech at the Parliament of the World's Religions in 1893 in Chicago.

"We want to make the world better. We have no aspiration of dominance. Our influence is not a result of conquest or colonisation," Bhagwat said.

"Hindu society will prosper only when it works as a society," Bhagwat said addressing at the Congress.

Bhagwat said Hindu people do not believe in opposing anything.

"Hindus don't live to oppose anything," the RSS chief said.

Bhagwat said Hindu community should tackle opposing people without harming them.

Actor Anupam Kher also attended the Congress.

He tweeted: " It was my pleasure and a previledge to attend the inaugural session and address the delegates of #WHC2018Chicago. Great, vibrant and scholarly atmosphere. Jai Bharat. #WorldHinduCongress."
