New Delhi, May 29 (IBNS) : A high alert was sounded in Punjab's Pathankot on Monday after police found two suspicious bags near Mamun Army cantonment, reports said.

According to reports, locals spotted  the bags and informed the police. Cops immediately rushed to the spot and the  area was cordoned off.

The police recovered mobile tower batteries from the bags. A search operation is underway to find the owner of the bags.

Last year, four terrorists who had sneaked in from across the border had attacked the Pathankot Air Base+ on the intervening night of January 1 and 2, claiming the lives of seven security personnel.
