Heavy rains lash parts of Bengaluru, 14 flights diverted, roads waterlogged

Bengaluru/IBNS: Heavy rains in Bengaluru caused massive waterlogging in parts of the city, leaving 14 flights diverted and several others delayed.

Heavy waterlogging was reported on the city outskirts of Bengaluru where the Kempegowda International Airport is located.

Strong crosswinds and heavy rain with thunder and lightning impacted flight operations from 4.05 PM to 4.51 PM, an airport official told the media.

Later normal flight operations resumed, said reports.

Areas around the airport and IT corridors like Varthur, Sarjapura, Whitefield, Marathalli, Bellandur reported intense rain.

There was waterlogging reported from inside the brand-new Nallurhalli Metro station.
