Gurgaon, July 29 (IBNS): The two-days traffic congestion in Gurgaon following heavy rains finally got relief on Friday, reports said.

The jam cleared after prohibitory orders were imposed on a key crossing for several hours.

The traffic jam earlier stretched for about 15 km.

However, the prohibitory order was lifted later on Friday evening.

Earlier in the day, Gurgaon Police tweeted: " 29-Jul. People coming to Gurgaon from Delhi are advised to stay back today to avoid being stuck in Traffic Jams due to flooding on roads."

Heavy rains on Thursday inundated many areas in Gurgaon and traffic stalled eventually.

For several kilometers, traffic was reduced to a crawl in areas including Sohna Road, Golf Course Road as well as localities around Huda City Centre, reported The Indian Express.

The situation showed no improvement on Friday.

Office of Rahul Gandhi tweeted, "As BJP passes the buck,Gurgaon chokes.Wht an awful ordeal 4commuters esp ambulances tht may have been stuck for hrs!"
