Lucknow, Apr 9 (IBNS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said no one will be spared and strict action will be taken against the guilty in the case related to the alleged rape of a girl in Unnao town of the state.

"Who ever is found guilty in the case, that person will be punished. No one will be spared," Yogi told media.

Uttar Pradesh Police will be investigating into the death of a man whose daughter had alleged being raped by a local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, according to media reports on Monday.

Local reports say that the man was allegedly beaten up nearly a week ago by the leader and his associates.

However, the police arrested the man following complaints by the alleged rapists.

The man, in judicial custody, was taken to the hospital after he complained of abdominal pain on Sunday, reports said. He was later declared dead.

According to NDTV, two police officers and four constables have also been suspended, while four persons accused of beating the woman's father have been arrested.

An 18- year- old woman from Unnao in Uttar Pradesh had claimed that she was raped by Kuldeep Singh Sengar, the BJP legislator from Unnao, and his brother last year but the police refused to take their complaint, according to reports.

Citing police and administrative inaction, the girl even attempted to commit suicide along with her family in front of Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Aditynath's residence, reports said.

UP Police on its official Twitter handle said, DGP Up Police OP Singh,  on his one day visit to Behraich district to review the L&O & Coordination meeting with Nepal Police and SSB officers, has said that a thorough investigation will be made into the Unnao incident and all necessary steps will be taken.
