New Delhi, June 29 (IBNS): Ahead of the GST roll out on July 1, Union minister Venkaiah Naidu, said Goods and Services Tax (GST) is transformatory and revolutionary taxation system on Thursday.

At a press conference, Naidu said people of India are waiting for the roll out of GST.

He said: "Everybody is congratulating us for the GST. Both younger and older generations are speaking about it."

Illustrating the benefits of GST, Naidu said they are trying to create a "common national market".

"We are moving away from the multiple taxes. GST is India's destiny," he added.

However, opposition parties like Congress, TMC, RJD and Left already announced their decision to boycott the GST celebration at the parliamentary house at midnight on June 30.

Reacting to the boycott by several opposition parties, Naidu said: "Both the President and Prime Minister will be present at the parliamentary house on June 30. They can't even show respect to them by being present."

TMC chief Mamata Banerjee, on Wednesday announced that her party will not be present at the parliamentary house for GST celebration, followed by Left and RJD.
