Lucknow, Apr 10 (IBNS): A Bengaluru-based surgeon has said he was removed from an Indigo flight after he complained about mosquitoes in the aircraft.

The government has ordered an enquiry into the incident.

"I have ordered an enquiry into the incident of off-loading passenger Dr Saurabh Rai by Indigo at Lucknow Airport," Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu tweeted.

Saurabh Rai has said he was "held by the collar" and dragged by the flight's crew members who removed him from the plane.

The plane was going from Lucknow to Bengaluru.

"I heard the crew saying 'if you have a problem with mosquitoes then why don't you leave India?'" Rai told NDTV.

The airline major said Rai tried to instigate the passenger and even used the word 'hijack'.

NDTV quoting IndiGo said: "He (Dr Rai) attempted to instigate other passengers to damage the aircraft and used words such as 'hijack'. Hence, keeping in mind applicable safety protocols, the crew apprised pilot-in-command, who decided to offload him."
