#GoBackModiFromBengal trends on Twitter ahead of PM Modi's Kolkata visit

Kolkata/IBNS: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Kolkata visit, #GoBackModiFromBengal has started trending on Twitter amid the widespread protests against the Centre over the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, National Register of Citizens (NRC), National Population Register (NPR) and also the assault on Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) students.

One Aparna tweeted, "Your goons have hurt our daughter. Every drop of blood she bled was ours. #GobackModi. You have no place in our land. #GoBackModiFromBengal"

Sushovan Patra tweeted, "Left in Bengal has always been exemplary in defending secularism. Legacy of #Bengal continues to be reference point for communal harmony & religious peace. Bengal rejects a DIVIDER in Chief who masterminds divisive unconstitutional #CAA2019 #GobackModi #GoBackModiFromBengal"

Madhurima tweeted, "Students against Fascism. #GoBackModiFromBengal"

Arjun Ramakrishnan tweeted, "Other than a few sons of cows and EVMs, none loved our Modiji. #GoBackModi #GoBackModiFromBengal"

One Safiul tweeted, "#GoBackModiFromBengal Don't try to divide us!"

The Students' Federation of India (SFI)- the student organisation affiliated to the Communist Party of India- which is vehemently opposing the Narendra Modi government over CAA, NRC, NPR and more recently the assault on JNU students, organised protests against Modi's visit at five locations- Esplanade, College Street, Hatibagan, Jadavpur 8B and Golpark- at 12 pm.

The students is also protesting at Airport Gate No. 1 since 3 pm.
