Goa government to organise Manohar Parrikar Vignan Mahotsav on Dec 12, 13

Panaji, Nov 12 (UNI) Goa Government will organise Manohar Parrikar Vidnyan Mahotsav at National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), Dona Paula, near the city, on December 12 and 13, 2019.

Addressing a press conference at his official residence in the city, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said Department of Science and Technology, Government of Goa, would organise the event on the occasion of birth anniversary of former State Chief Minister Late Manohar Parrikar.

Besides NIO, the event would be held at Government College, Sankhli, Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, Government College, Pernem, and Government College, Quepem.

The programmes would be open for public also so that those interested could attend at their place of convenience, the Chief Minister said.

Dr Sawant said Padmabhushan Dr Vijay Kumar Saraswat, Padmashree Dr K Vijay Raghavan, Dr Shekhar C Mande, Padmashree Dr A S Kiran Kumar, Dr Shailesh Naik, Dr J Shrinivasan, Dr S K Tondon and Dr Ashok Mishra would be prominent speakers at the programme.

The Chief Minister said that the government had decided to organised the event every year and had signed two MoUs with CSIR and Principle Scientific Advisor to the Government of India for recommending name of the scientists who would be attending the programme.

He said the government would organise photo exhibition on life of late Manohar Parrikar.
