"When you download the app from the Google Play Store, you will find all the information and documents of the 2020 Gangsagar Fair," said Superintendent of Police of the Sundarbans Vaibhav Tewari while speaking at a press conference at Kakdwip in South 24 Parganas district on Wednesday.

He told reporters that all information of the Gangasagar fair of 2020 will be available through this app.

With this app the pilgrims can know the train schedule from Sealdah.  Even Vessels and launch schedules can be known from Lot No. 8 to Kachubaria and from

through this app.  Most significantly, the Aarti and worship of Kapil Muni Temple can be seen directly.

The administration will use the app as a mini-control room for administrative purposes. the SP said.

"With this app, the police officers in charge of the Gangasagar fair will be able to know the number of pilgrims pesent in real time.  Officials can even see the images of the number of cars in a buffer zone," he stated.

Besides, GPS machines will be installed on the Vessels which will be running in the Muriganga River during the fair days and the 210 buses which will run in the Gangasagar fair, Tewari said.

With the help of this machine, the authorities will be able to see where the Vessel and a car are.  To operate this app, 250 CCTV cameras will be installed in the fair
premises, he added.

The police superintendent told reporters that this year, 10,000 policemen will be deployed at the Gangasagar fair.  The 23 special teams of the police administration will monitor the fair.  There will be eight very active teams in the fairgrounds to handle any situation. Bomb squad and disaster response personnel will be stationed at important places, including the fair complex.

This year five support centers will be opened for pilgrims.

The police superintendent said, "Through the app, the pilgrims will get the phone numbers of all the officials in charge of the Gangasagar fair.  The pilgrims can get help any kind of help round-the-clock by calling these numbers."
