Four militants nabbed in Assam

Guwahati, July 20 (IBNS): Assam Police apprehended four militants of a newly floated outfit group and seized arms and ammunition from lower Assam’s Baksa district on Thursday, officials said.

According to the reports, following a tip-off, a team of Baksa police launched an operation at Goreswar area and apprehended the militants.

The nabbed militants were identified as Mintu Sinha, Hitesh Bezbaruah, Hitesh Kalita and Munindra Patowary and they belong to a newly floated outfit group United Independent Assamese Army (UIAAA).

Police recovered one 9mm pistol with magazine, two rounds live ammunition, extortion notes and Rs 28,250 cash in possession from them.
