Four jehadis nabbed in Assam

Guwahati, Apr 17 (IBNS) : Security forces on Sunday apprehended four jehadis and recovered arms and ammunition from Assam’s Chirang and Kokrajhar district, police said.

BTAD ADGP Dr LR Bisnoi said that based on intelligence input police had launched operation at Tulsibil, Muwamari, Bhawraguri, Jaypur areas in Kokrajhar district and Dawkhanagar area in Chirang district and nabbed four jehadis.

The nabbed jehadis were identified as Abu Bakar Siddique, Jahanur Alam Sheikh, Samad Ali Mandal and Azizul Sheikh.

Security personnel recovered a HE grenade, one revolver, seven rounds M20 ammunition, two army camouflage dress, five mobile phones in possession from them.

Security forces had busted a jehadi camp at Dawkhanagar in Chirang district and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition in last year.

Police also nabbed at least 16 suspected jehadis from lower Assam last year.
