Four Adivasi militants nabbed in Kokrajhar

Guwahati, Dec 11 (IBNS): Four militants of newly floated Adivasi Dragon Fighter (ADF) were apprehended by security forces in Assam’s Kokrajhar distrct on Saturday evening, police said on Sunday.

Based on specific information regarding movement of Adhivasi Dragon Fighter (ADF) at near of Amlaiguri Satsang Bihar in the BTAD district, a joint operation was launched by Kokrajhar Police and 210 Cobra Battalion in the remote area.

The joint operational team had reached Amlaiguri and waited for a while about movement of the militants at South Bhomraguri and the team immediately cordoned the area and apprehended four militants.

The nabbed militants were identified as Jonash Murmu, Mangaldoi Murmu, Birbal Soren and Manak Hembrom.

Security personnel had recovered a country made INSAS type rifle with magazine, four country made pistol, five numbers of 7.62 mm live ammunition, one 9 mm live ammunition, six country made bombs and three mobile phones in possession from them.
