Former Congress leader & Odisha MLA Behera joins BJP

New Delhi, Mar 17 (UNI) Odisha MLA Prakash Chandra Behera on Sunday joined the BJP giving the saffron party a major booster in the coastal region in the state. 

Welcoming him to party fold, BJP leader Baijayant Panda said Behera represents Salepur assembly constituency in Cuttack region and his entry into the BJP will give a major boost to the saffron party in Cuttack and also Kendrapara regions.

Behera was in the Congress party for last two decades and had resigned from the Congress on Saturday.

Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan was also present on the occasion.

"I have faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and the youngsters in my constituency are really impressed with the central government's decision of carry out surgical strikes against Pakistan," he said," Behera said.
