Former Bihar CM Ramsundar Das dead

Patna, Mar 6(IBNS) Former Bihar chief minister Ram Sundar Das died at a hostpital here on Friday. He was 94.

He is survived by two sons and one daughter. He was a widower.

A leader of the ruling Janata Dal (U),Das was the chief minister of Bihar heading the Janata Party government  from April 21  1979 to February 17 ,1980.

A dalit leader, Das was first elected to the Lok Sabha from Hajipur constituency in 1991 at the age of 70. He was re-elected to the 15th Lok Sabha from the same constituency. He contested from Hajipur again in 2014 general election when in his 90s, but Lok Janshakti Party chief Ram Vilas Paswan won the seat.
