Ranchi/UNI: RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, jailed in connection with the multi crore fodder scam, will have to wait a little longer for bail as a court fixed the next hearing date to be April 16.

In connection with Dumka Treasury Case of the Fodder Scam, Lalu Yadav, as per his lawyers, has completed half tenure of the imprisonment awarded to him which makes him eligible for availing bail and on the same basis.

A petition was filed in the court of justice Apresh Kumar Singh.

During the hearing, the CBI urged the court to approve three days for filing of counter-affidavit which was approved by the court despite opposition by the lawyers of Lalu Yadav and the court fixed April 16 as the next date of hearing.

On Feb 19 the Jharkhand High Court had rejected the bail plea on the grounds that Lalu Yadav had not completed half tenure of the imprisonment.

At present Lalu Yadav is admitted at AIIMS New Delhi where he is undergoing treatment for various ailments.
