Fire in Kolkata IT hub building, blaze controlled

Kolkata, Dec 9 (IBNS): A fire broke out in a multi-storey office building at Salt Lake Sector V area in Kolkata on Wednesday morning, but it has been brought under control, reports said.

According to reports, the fire was first seen around 7:30 a.m. on the sixth floor of 'Infinity Benchmark' building.

As many as five fire engines, skylift, police and the Disaster Management Group (DMG) personnel rushed to the spot.

After evacuating the building, fire extinguishing process was started.

The blaze was brought under control after few hours.

After primary investigation, the fire department said that the fire might have started due to short circuit.

However, no casualty has been reported so far and the cooling off process is currently underway.
