Fire erupts at Somaiya Hospital in Mumbai

Mumbai/UNI: A fire broke out at an under-construction eight-storey building in Mumbai's Somaiya Hospital on Saturday evening, with no injury reported, the BMC said.

According to city administration, the incident occured at 7:15 pm and was confined to a room on the 3rd floor of the under construction building.

The Somaiya Hospital building is a ground plus 7-storey structure located near the Eastern Express Highway near Sion area of Mumbai.

After receiving the information, four fire engines and ambulance were rushed to the spot.

A team from Mumbai Fire Brigade immediately launched the firefighting operations.

The fire was declared as a level-1 fire, Mumbai's civic body Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said.
