Fire breaks out at Aizawl DC office

Guwahati: A devastating fire broke out at the Deputy Commissioner (DC) office in Mizoram’s capital city Aizawl on Friday morning.

The Deputy Commissioner office building is a colonial structure and it was built in 1890.

Iit is one of Aizawl’s popular heritage buildings.

The fire broke out at the office building at around 4 am and engulfed most parts of the office.

The Fire and Emergency Services was notified immediately, but most parts of the office building were burnt down.

Many valuable, historical and political documents stored in the archives of the officer were reduced to ashes in the fire.

There is no report of any casualty in the fire incident.
