Guwahati/UNI: The deadlock between the Union government and Naga insurgent group NSCN-IM over the separate flag and constitution has been finally broken on Thursday.

The Naga insurgent group has finally agreed to sign in the final peace accord with the centre with a conditional flag and without a constitution.

A 15-member team of NSCN-IM led by its General Secretary Th. Muivah took part in the final round talks with Nagaland governor and centre appointed interlocutor RN Ravi in New Delhi on Thursday.

A leader of the Naga outfit and member of the delegation team said that the people of Nagaland are waiting for this moment.

“We have agreed to finalize the agreement. The centre has agreed that the Naga people can use its own flag, but some conditions will be applied. We will talk about the constitution later,” the NSCN-IM leader said.

Sources said that the final Naga peace accord would likely to be signed tonight.

It is to be mentioned that, the Framework Agreement between the NSCN-IM and centre was signed on August 3, 2015 in New Delhi in presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
