Family, including nine-year-old girl attacked by cow vigilantes in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, Apr 22 (IBNS) : At least five people including a nine-year-old girl have been injured when they were allegedly attacked by self-styled cow vigilantes in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, media reports said.

The incident took place near the Talwara area  when a group of gau rakshaks intercepted a family moving with their livestock, including cows, goats and sheep, and allegedly beat them up.

The victims alleged that  the attackers took away their entire flock.

The injured have been shifted to hospital.

An FIR has been registered against the attackers. No arrests have been made so far.
