Facing flak, Richa Chadha apologises for her 'Galwan' tweet
Indian actor Richa Chadha has apologised after her alleged sarcastic tweet on the Galwan valley, the flashing point between Indian and Chinese military, drew sharp criticisms.
Richa deleted her tweet and issued an apology, reminding the critics of her family's connection with the Indian Army.
She wrote in a long statement, "Even though it can never be my intention in the least, if the 3 words which are being dragged into a controversy have offended or hurt anyone, I apologise and also say that it would sadden me if even unintentionally my words have triggered this feeling in my brothers in the Fauj of which my own Nanaji has been an illustrious part."

Richa was heavily criticised after she tweeted "Galwan says hi' in response to the Indian Army's statement that it was ready to take back the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir if the government gives order.
Slamming the actor, ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s Manjinder Singh Sirsa said, "Disgraceful tweet. Should be withdrawn at the earliest. Insulting our armed forces is not justified."
