Ex- Maharashtra deputy chief minister Chhagan Bhujbal granted bail

Mumbai, May 4 (IBNS): The Bombay High Court on Friday granted bail to ex-Maharashtra deputy chief minister Chhagan Bhujbal who was jailed in connection with a money laundering case.

he has spent over two years in jail.

He was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in 2016.

The NCP leader was arrested in connection to a money laundering case connected to the  Maharashtra Sadan construction scam.

The agency had arrested him following a 10-hour long question session.

The Enforcement Directorate had alleged then that the Bhujbal received kickbacks for awarding various government contracts, including the Maharashtra Sadan in Delhi, to the tune of Rs. 870 crore.
