Eight workers injured in furnace blast at factory in Himachal Pradesh

Shimla/UNI: Eight workers were injured in a furnace blast at Agarwal Steel Industry Company in the Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh, State Disaster Management Authority said on Sunday.

A spokesperson of the authority said that eight people sustained burn injuries in the mishap and were rushed to civil hospital Una. Of these, 6 sustained series injuries have been referred to PGI from there.

Police reached the spot and started an investigation.

The incident happened due to excessive steam generation in the furnace around 2:30 am on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.
