Eight policemen injured as Armymen beat them up in Kashmir's Ganderbal district

Srinagar, July 22 (IBNS): Eight policemen, including an Assistant Sub Inspector of Jammu and Kashmir Police, were injured after a posse of Armymen attacked a a police station in Ganderbal district and beat them up late Friday night, NDTV reported.

The incident took place after the Army personnel were stopped at a police barricade in Gund by policemen.

The Armymen were returning from the Amarnath Yatra.

The injured policemen have been moved to a hospital and an FIR has been registered against the Armymen.

According to reports, the Armymen, who were in civil clothes, had been  stopped at the check post as part of a drill that does not allow pilgrims to travel during the night.

Police said the Armymen insisted to move and thrashed the cops but police didn't let them go.
