Eight die in accident on Yamuna Expressway in Agra

Mathura, Jun 16 (UNI): Eight people died when their car rammed into the rear of a truck in the Baldev area here at Yamuna Expressway on Sunday.

Superintendent of police (Rural) Aditya Kumar Shukla here said the speeding car dashed into the truck from behind in Baldev area at Yamuna Expressway on Sunday morning. Four women and a man died on the spot in the accident while three others sustained severe injuries.

The injured were rushed to the hospital where all of them succumbed to their injuries. The deceased were identified as Neeraj Devi (30), Anita (30), Vishnu (23), Santoshi (19), Shalu (20), Anjali (11), Taruna (21) and Gabbar Singh (24).

Sources said impact was so great that the relief team had to cut through the car to retrieve the bodies. It was reported that all of them were going to Agra.
