Eastern Command joins Facebook

Kolkata, Aug 3 (IBNS): The Army’s Eastern Command launched its Facebook page on Wednesday.

The page can be accessed at Eastern Command _ Indian Army.

In his inaugural message Lt Gen Praveen Bakshi, GOC-in-C, Eastern Command said “Eastern Command’s Facebook page is yet another bridge integrating the activities of Indian Army with the lives of people at large, especially our citizens and particularly those living in the North Eastern region.  We are committed towards creating an environment of transparency, constructive interaction and most importantly honest feedback, thus enabling us to achieve our aims of security and stability in the North-East Region”.

"The Eastern Command had recently launched its Twitter handle also, which has drawn enthusiastic response from the people," read a government statement.
