External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday met Denmark PM Mette Frederiksen in Copenhagen, when he thanked her for her guidance to take forward our Green Strategic Partnership.

Jaishankar, who is currently on a three-nation tour, thanked her Denmark showed solidarity and support in combating terrorism.

After the meeting, Jaishankar wrote on X: "Thank PM Mette Frederiksen for warmly receiving me in Copenhagen this evening."

He further wrote: "Conveyed the personal greetings of PM @narendramodi. Thank Denmark for its solidarity and support in combating terrorism."

He commented on the backdrop of the recent terror attack in India's Jammu and Kashmir UT, which left 26 people, mostly non-Muslims, dead.

The terror attack in Pahalgam, described as India's 'Mini Switzerland', by Pakistan-backed terrorists left the world shocked and triggered widespread condemnation.

It was the major terror attack reported from the region in past six years.

A large number of tourists were visiting Jammu and Kashmir in the past few years.

India conducted Operation Sindoor on May 7 in response to the attack and targeted several terror hubs in Pakistan and PoK.

Pakistan targeted several Indian cities in the next few days with drones and missiles. India responded by neutralising them.

After four days of escalated tensions, a ceasefire was reached between the two nuclear-armed countries on May 10.

Netherlands Visit

Before arriving in Denmark, Jaishankar visited the Netherlands and met top leadership in the country.

During the visit, EAM called on Dick Schoof, Prime Minister of the Netherlands when both sides expressed satisfaction at the growing strategic convergences in the India-Netherlands relationship, and agreed to further strengthen bilateral ties through regular high level visits and exchanges.

Jaishankar conveyed India's appreciation for the statement of solidarity from the Netherlands in the fight against terrorism.

Jaishankar held a meeting with his counterpart, Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp and reviewed the entire gamut of bilateral cooperation, and regional and global matters of mutual interest.

"The Ministers expressed satisfaction over the progress in diverse sectors including trade & economy, science & technology, water, agriculture & health, education, culture and people-to-people ties," read the statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs.

They also discussed ways of increasing collaboration in new and emerging sectors of digital technology, semiconductors, AI, and green hydrogen.

Jaishankar also met with Defence Minister Ruben Brekelmans and discussed opportunities to take forward the defence and security cooperation between the two countries to the next level.

The two sides agreed to further strengthen cooperation in the defence sector.

Jaishankar will later visit Germany in the final leg of his three-nation tour.
