Don't promote donkeys in Gujarat ads : UP CM Akhilesh Yadav asks Amitabh Bachchan

Rae Bareli, Feb 20 (IBNS) : A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi 'bijli' barb, accusing the Uttar Pradesh Government of making communal discrimination in the supply of electricity, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav launched a blistering counter attack, advising actor Amitabh Bachchan to stop endorsing the "asses of Gujarat".

The comments were on a tourism advertisement for Gujarat featuring Amitabh Bachchan which promoted running donkeys.

Addressing  a rally in Rai Breli, Akhilesh Yadav said, "There comes an advertisement on Television which features a donkey. I will ask the megastar of this century to stop campaigning for donkeys."

"Where is the country going ? What will happen if donkeys also start getting advertised?," he said.

In one of the advertisements of Gujarat tourism, the Bollywood megastar is seen promoting Indian Wild Ass Wildlife sanctuary and describing the features of Indian wild ass.

Akhilesh Yadav's vitriolic came a day after PM Modi made a speech at Fatehpur where he said, "If land is given for cemetery in a village, it should be given for cremation ground also. If electricity is supplied during Ramazan, it should be supplied during Diwali also. There should not be discrimination."
