Distasteful and disgraceful: Amit Shah on Mallikarjun Kharge's 'won't die till Modi is removed from power' remark

New Delhi/IBNS: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has lashed out at Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge for "dragging" Prime Minister Narendra Modi into his "personal health matters" during a poll campaign in Jammu and Kashmir.

Kharge on Sunday fainted during a rally in Jammu and Kashmir. Later the veteran politician said he won't die until Modi is removed from power.

In a counter, Shah posted on X, "Yesterday, the Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge Ji has outperformed himself, his leaders and his party in being absolutely distasteful and disgraceful in his speech.

"In a bitter display of spite, he unnecessarily dragged PM Modi into his personal health matters by saying that he would die only after removing PM Modi from power. It just shows how much hate and fear these Congress people have of PM Modi, that they are thinking of him constantly."

"As for the health of Mr. Kharge Ji, Modi Ji prays, I pray and we all pray that he lives a long, healthy life. May he continue to live for many years and may he live to see the creation of a Viksit Bharat by 2047," the top BJP leader added.

After gaining consciousness, Kharge resumed his speech and said, "I am 83 years old. I am not going to die soon. I will live, listen to people and fight for them until Modi is removed from power."

The Congress was addressing the rally in Kashmir's Jasrota.

As per reports, Prime Minister Modi rang Kharge and inquired about his health.
