Dev D actress Mahie Gill joins BJP

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Mahie Gill on Monday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in the presence of senior leaders of the saffron brigade.

Gill joined the party just ahead of the Punjab assembly polls scheduled to be held on Feb 20.

Punjabi actor Hobby Dhaliwal also joined the BJP.

Both joined the saffron party in the presence of Union Minister Gajendra Shekhawat, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and the party general secretary Dushyant Gautam.

Mahie Gill is best known for starring in 'Dev D' which was released in 2009.

The Punjab Assembly Election 2022 will be held in a single phase on Feb 20 for 117 constituencies.

The counting of votes will take place on Mar 10.
