Deesa, Gujarat, Dec 10 (IBNS) : Asserting that the demonetisation move will benefit the poor and the middle class, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday urged the people to integrate themselves with e-banking and e-wallets.

Addressing a farmers' rally,  the Prime Minister also said it is a "major step:to rid the nation from corruption" and things will soon vastly change as the value of  small currency notes has increased.

"Demonetisation has been announced for the betterment of poor..."Merely talking about the poor is different from working for the poor, something that the NDA government is always doing," he said.

"I Had asked for 50 days. You will see how things will change...After demonetisation, the value of small currency notes has increased: ," Modi said.

The Prime Minister also appealed to all political parties to teach banking to the people and make them learn about electronic transactions, the goal that his Government has set for building up a cashless economy.

"I urge you all to integrate people with e-banking, e-wallets...I want to appeal to all parties that do critise me, but now teach banking to the people, make them learn about electronic transactions," he said.

"Today your banks and wallets are in your mobile. This is how things have changed."

Claiming that the move is a "major step" against corruption, the PM said in the past 70 years honest people had not been able to live in peace , but now "nobody will be spared.:

"These games of looting the poor and exploiting the middle classes will now be history," he said.

Taking a dig at the Opposition for creating ruckus in Parliament over demonetisation, Modi said he was not being allowed to speak in the House and hence, he is speaking in the 'Jasabha' (public meeting).

"People have supported the move by the Government and I thank them for the bestowing trust on me," the PM said.

Modi also inaugurated a whey powder plant and launch the dairy's new product, Banas Honey.

He also launched 'Amul Deshi A2' cow milk that will be marketed by Amul in Ahmedabad.
