Delhi woman dies of injuries after her saree gets stuck between metro train doors

New Delhi: A woman, who was caught under a metro at Delhi's Inderlok station, succumbed to her injuries on Saturday at Safdarjung Hospital, media reports said.

The victim suffered fatal injuries after her saree became entangled between the train's doors.

It is not known yet whether the 35-year-old woman was boarding or deboarding the metro remain.

The incident occurred on Thursday, December 14, and the woman succumbed to her injuries two days later, on Saturday.

Media reports citing a relative of the victim that her husband had passed away around seven years ago, and she is survived by a son and a daughter.

Delhi Metro’s Chief Public Relations Officer Anuj Dayal said, “An incident occurred at Inderlok Metro station on December 14, where prima facie it appears that a woman passenger’s clothes got entangled in a train, leading to injuries and subsequent demise in hospital on Saturday.”
