''We hope that this university will produce world-class players and coaches'' said the CM, adding that this bill also has a provision to open sports schools of the university where a child who is talented and displays the same during fifth -sixth standard in school can take admission in the sports school.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia who was also present along with the CM said that Delhi government already has the land for the sports University and the Cabinet has passed the bill which will be passed in the Assembly too and the sports university will be allocated the budget which will be given to the university on an annual basis.

He said at present, a player takes up a sport on a part-time basis as they are either studying or into a job, however, after taking admission into this university they can completely focus on sports without worrying about anything.
