Delhi High Court dismisses MHA plea seeking clarification on order not to act against lawyers
New Delhi, Nov 6 (UNI) Delhi High Court on Wednesday dismissed an application filed on behalf of Ministry of Home Affairs seeking clarification of an order that no coercive step be taken against lawyers against whom an FIR had been registered after the November 2 clashes between police and lawyers at Tis Hazari Court.
A division bench of Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice C Hari Shankar on November 3 had passed an order of judicial inquiry by retired Delhi High Court Judge SP Garg on the clash between cops and lawyers on November 2 and directed that no coercive action be taken against any lawyer on the basis of the First Information Report registered on behalf of police official.
The High Court after hearing the submission passed an order that the judicial inquiry panel set up to look into the clash on November 2 will continue to function.
The court further said that November 3 order about no coercive action against lawyers is regarding the two FIR's registered on November 2 incident of Tis Hazari clash incident only.
The Bar Council of India today submitted before the High Court that that the yesterday protest of Delhi Police seems to be "Politically Motivated" so the guilty police official be arrested with in a week.
Bar Council of India further requested to court for passing a direction that media should be restrained from reporting this matter as they are showing us in negative light.
