New Delhi, Aug 6 (IBNS): A 24-year-old woman, working as a chartered accountant for a private company in Gurugram, was shot at allegedly by her ‘jilted lover’ in Delhi’s Ashok Vihar on Saturday, media reports said.

The bullet, however, only grazed past her chest.

The accused has been identified as 30-year-old Harish Sharma.

According to the police, Sharma was enraged as the woman refused to his marriage proposal and therefore attacked her outside her maternal grandmother’s house.

Sharma reportedly fled the spot after the shooting.

He was later caught from his house in east Delhi’s Shahdara on Sunday morning.

The woman survived the attack but received chest injuries.

Hearing the gunshot, the woman’s neighbours rushed to the scene.

Her relatives then rushed her to a nearby private hospital, where her condition was stated to be stable.

The woman in her complaint has also accused the attacker of stalking and harassing her.
