Delhi businessman accuses wife and in-laws of harassment in 59-mins video, dies by suicide

Puneet Khurana, 40, died by suicide at his residence in Delhi's Model Town on Tuesday. He used to live with his parents.

Puneet's family members also blamed his wife and in-laws for harassing him.

Police have initiated a probe into the suicide and sent Puneet's phone into forensic examination.

"On reaching the spot, a 40-year-old man was found lying on  the bed in an unresponsive state with a ligature mark around his neck," police said as quoted by The Times of India.

Puneet, who used to run a bakery, was rushed to BJRM Hospital. His body was preserved for autopsy, reports said.

An audio clip that captured a conversation between Puneet and his wife went viral. The couple were heard arguing business matters.

The wife has alleged Puneet disgraced her and her family. When confronted, Puneet asked her what she wanted, the wife claimed.

The couple, who were married for eight years, had initiated divorce proceedings six months ago.

In a suicide video last year, Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash, who is originally from Uttar Pradesh, alleged that he and his family were slapped with charges of murder, dowry harassment and unnatural sex by his wife Nikita Singhania. However, Nikita later withdrew the case.

Atul was found hanging at his home on Monday with a 24-page suicide note after recording the video.

In the suicide note, Atul alleged his wife was getting Rs. 40,000 per month for maintenance despite having a job at Accenture and even asked for Rs. 2-4 lakh more.

"Justice is due," wrote Atul in every single page of the note.
