Mumbai/IBNS: The death toll in the fire incident at a Mumbai hospital has touched six, the municipal corporation stated.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has put up a tweet stating, "A few more precious lives lost in the Bhandup West Fire at Dreams Mall taking the death toll up to six. Our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased."

A massive fire broke out at Sunrise Hospital in Dreams Mall at Bhandup West late last night.

Several patients have been shifted to different hospitals.

Twenty fire engines, 15 water tankers and ambulances were rushed to the spot.

Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar, who had reached the spot, was taken by surprise when he got to know that a hospital was operating inside a mall.

"I have seen a hospital at a mall for the first time," the Mayor said as quoted by Hindustan Times.

Pednekar also said actions will be taken if irregularities were found to operate the hospital inside the mall.
