Death sentence to three persons in gruesome Assam murder

Guwahati, Apr 22 (IBNS): A local court in Morigaon district of Assam on Wednesday awarded death sentence to three persons after being held guilty of abduction and gruesome murder of a youth four years ago.
Delivering the 108 pages judgement by the Morigaon districts and Session court Judge Ikramul Hussain has awarded death sentence to three persons- Mohan Teron, Sanjay Chand and Bhim Das – convicted under Sections 302 and 34 of the IPC in the abduction and murder case of a 21 year old youth of Jagiroad in the middle Assam district.
 
The convicted persons had abducted Arup Dutta, a 21 year youth, son of Apu Dutta, a businessman of Jagiroad town in Morigaon district, on July 17, 2011 and murdered the youth.
 
The trio had buried the body in the dense forest areas in Karbi Anglong and demanded ransom from the businessman for releasing his son.
 
The businessman had contacted with police after receiving calls from the abductors and police had apprehended them.
 
They had revealed their crime and the body was recovered by the security personnel from the dense forest area in the hilly district.
