Dawood Ibrahim now lives in Pakistan, brother tells police

Mumbai, Sep 22 (IBNS) : Though for long intelligence agencies have been claiming that fugitive don Dawood Ibrahim lives in Pakistan, his brother Iqbal Kaskar has now confirmed it, giving out to investigators the Karachi addresses of India's most wanted man.

According to media reports, Kaskar has also reportedly said that  Dawood is sacred of calling his relatives or his men in India on phone for fear of tapping.

Kaskar, 60, the only one of Dawood's brothers to be based in Mumbai now, was arrested on September 18 along with two of his aides by the Thane police's anti-extortion cell.

He reportedly  told the interrogators that he has spoken with his other brother, Anees Ibrahim, who lives with Dawood only four or five times in the recent past.

Kaskar has reportedly given police Dawood's four addresses-all in Karachi.

In August this year, Dawood spoke to CNN-News18 from his Karachi den. "Aap Kaun? (Who are you?)” he shot back when asked whether it was Dawood on the line. When the CNN-News18 correspondent identified himself, there was a pause as the 1993 Bombay blasts mastermind, clearly rattled at picking up a call he was not supposed to, tried to figure out damage control.

“No this is Chotani speaking,” he tried to take evasive action. Chotani — Javed Chotani — is a bookie who masterminds Dawood’s businesses in Dubai. Indians know him through his involvement in the 2013 IPL spot-fixing case where he allegedly worked as a conduit between Dawood and the players.

Dawood then hurriedly handed over the phone to the real Chotani, and from then on it was him who did all the talking — prompted by the Don himself.

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena President Raj Thackeray on Thursday said that Fugitive mafia don Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar wants to return to India and is currently negotiating a settlement with the BJP-led government at the centre.

Thackeray also added that Dawood is now very sick and crippled, he is very keen to return to India and breathe his last in his motherland.

“He is currently engaged in a ‘setting’ with the government for this and this could happen,” Thackeray said at a huge gathering to launch his official Facebook Page.
