Dalai Lama takes COVID-19 vaccine shot

Dharamsala: Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama on Saturday took the first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine at Zonal Hospital in Himachal Pradesh's Dharamsala city.

A video of him was also shared on his official Twitter account.

He captioned the video as: " His Holiness the Dalai Lama receiving the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine at Zonal Hospital, Dharamsala, HP, India on March 6, 2021."

Maintaining the upward trend, India has registered 18,327 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, as per data released by the Ministry of Health on Saturday.

During the same period, 108 deaths were also registered.

The death toll due to the disease now stands at 1,57,656.

There are 180304 active cases in the country at present.

So far, 10854128 people have been discharged from hospital.
