Cricket betting racket busted in Telangana: Two held

Hyderabad/UNI: The city police have busted an organised Cricket betting racket by arresting two persons, a police statement here said on Wednesday.

The accused was identified as Sandeep Goel, resident of Bhivani village, Haryana.

Police seized net cash of Rs 3.5 lakh and three cell phones from their possession.

According to statement, on a tip-off, the sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force, North Zone team conducted raid at Cricket betting (Gaming) house and apprehended Sandeep Goel (40) of Haryana and Sohal Khan of Secunderabad on Tuesday.

They were accepting cricket betting amount directly and indirectly over cell phones from betting agents and punters for ongoing cricket matches and gain illegally easy money.
