CPI-M to elect new general secretary?

Visakhapatnam, Apr 19 (IBNS): Bringing a new era in the history of the CPI (M) party, senior politburo member Sitaram Yechury and party leader SR Pillai are the frontrunners to succeed Prakash Karat in the party, media reports said.
The last CPI(M) meeting of the outgoing politburo was held late night on Saturday. 
 
The meeting  reportedly commenced somewhere before 9 pm and lasted till 12 am in the morning.
 
However, no formal announcement regarding the outcome of the meeting, has been made as of now.
