Court convicts JIPL, two Directors in coal scam case

New Delhi, Mar 28 (IBNS) In the first judgement in the coal scam, a special court on Monday convicted Jharkhand Ispat Pvt Ltd (JIPL) and its two directors RS Rungta and RC Rungta in a case of irregularities in allotment of a coal block in the state to the firm, reports said.

Delivering his judgement, Special CBI Judge Bharat Parashar held the company and its two directors guilty of the offences under sections 120B (criminal conspiracy) and 420 (cheating) of IPC.

The court ordered that RS Rungta and RC Rungta, who were out on bail, be taken into custody and said it will announce the quantum of sentence on  March 31
