Coronavirus: Kerala declares 'state calamity' after three test positive

Thiruvananthapuram/IBNS: The Kerala Government on Monday declared "state calamity" as the third patient tested positive with Novel Coronavirus, which originated from China's populated Wuhan city.

The third case of novel Coronavirus outbreak in India was also reported from Kerala on Monday, a day after an Indian student from Wuhan was tested positive, media reports said.

The third person who has been affected is also a student from Wuhan.

However, he is in a stable condition and has been kept in isolation at a hospital.

The two others, who were tested positive, are from Thrirssur. The third person is from Kerala's Kasaragod district.

Meanwhile, the death toll from the coronavirus has reached 361 with 57 new fatalities recorded over 24 hours, China's National Health Commission said.

According to new data released by the Commission, the number of confirmed cases of infection in the province has also risen by 2,103, reported Sputnik news agency.

The total number of confirmed cases of infection has reached 17,205 with a further 21,558 suspected cases being monitored.

Phillippines has reported the first death in Coronavirus outside mainland China.
