Koppal, May 8 (IBNS): Attacking the Congress and the Gandhi family, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said the party is only dedicated towards serving 'one family' and not the nation.

Addressing a rally in poll bound Karnataka, Modi said: "BJP believes in 'Rashtra Bhakti' and serving the society. Our only mantra is 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas'. But for the Congress party, only one family means everything."

Modi said his party believes in serving the nation.

He said the Congress government in the state did not perform and even failed to promote tourism sector of the state.

"Congress did nothing to promote tourism and rich history of Karnataka," Modi said.

Highlighting the activities of his Centre, he said: "We are promoting tourism in Karnataka. We are connecting distant places through airways:"

The PM said the Congress never thinks about the welfare of the farmers.

"Congress only thinks about its own welfare. They do not care about farmers. We are committed to welfare of farmers. We have decided to increase MSP of notified crops by 1.5 times," he said.

Election fever in Karnataka is on the rise on Tuesday with heavyweights of the Congress- party president Rahul Gandhi and ex-party president Sonia Gandhi- traveling to the southern state to campaign for the May 12 polls.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been campaigning himself in the state for the BJP for the past several days.

The poll is scheduled to be held on May 12. The poll results will be out three days later on May 15.

Karnataka is one of the last few states which are ruled by the Congress.

BJP, under the leadership of former Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa, is eyeing on to return to power.
