Congress has no real issues to campaign against PM Modi: Jaitley

| @indiablooms | Mar 17, 2019, at 03:04 pm

New Delhi, Mar 17 (IBNS): Union Minister Arun Jaitley on Sunday said the Congress is creating fake issues for the election campaign as they have no real criticism against the government.

"When you have no real issue against the government it is either a fakery or abuse," Jaitley tweeted.

However, he also mentioned that the more distasteful comment Congress will make, the more beneficial will be for the government.

"The more distasteful comment of the Congress against the Prime Minister @narendramodi ji, the greater will be the public revulsion against it," he tweeted.

Jaitley's tweets comes a day after Rahul Gandhi had tried to corner the PM over the campaign and said his approach was 'defensive'.

"Defensive tweet Mr Modi! You feeling a little guilty today?," Gandhi had tweeted.

On Saturday, Modi shared a video on social media which highlighted the initiatives of his government.

He shared the video with the caption that read: "our Chowkidar is standing firm & serving the nation. But, I am not alone. Everyone who is fighting corruption, dirt, social evils is a Chowkidar. Everyone working hard for the progress of India is a Chowkidar. Today, every Indian is saying-#MainBhiChowkidar."

The video ends with an appeal to join PM Modi's "Main Bhi Chowkidar" programme on Mar 31.

The campaign was launched amid Congress president Rahul Gandhi's attacks targeting the PM over numerous issues with the slogan "Chowkidar Chor Hai (watchman is a thief)".
