Congress-DMK join hands for Tamil Nadu Assembly polls

Chennai, Feb 13 (IBNS): Keeping in mind the upcoming Assembly polls, the Congress and the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam have decided to form an alliance on Saturday.

Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad and others met DMK supremo M Karunanidhi over the issue of forming the alliance.

Azad called the DMK as the most 'dependable partner'.

"We & Karunanidhiji will be fighting elections together; DMK has always been the most dependable partner," Azad tweeted.

He said: "DMK and Congress will fight the Tamil Nadu assembly polls together; I am more than sure we will form Govt under the leadership of DMK party."

Tamil Nadu will elect a new Assembly this year.
